Abstract

It is now well established that stars form during the collapse of dense cores within molecular clouds. However, the exact conditions under which the collapse proceeds and leads to the formation of few protostars, circumstellar disks and outflows are insufficiently known. During the last years, 3D simulations of this process have shown that the magnetic field is playing an important role and has a strong influence on the byproduct of core collapse. In the talk, I will review the recent works which have been carried out along this line.
