Abstract

High energy phenomena in astrophysics are connected with the production of non-thermal relativistic distribution of particles. The acceleration of charged particles to high energies is an important milestone in several domain of modern astrophysics: the origin of cosmic-rays, gamma-ray radiation in relativistic jets, radio and X-ray emission in massive star systems... Here we will describe different methods recently developed to handle the process of shock acceleration in several astrophysical objects.The challenge is to describe in a self-consistent manner the interaction of a magnetised fluid and relativistic particles that can counter react on the fluid flow. To this aim multi-scale in energy and space fluid-kinetic equations are solved by different numerical methods. The presentation addresses these different methods.
