Abstract

I will talk about a new hydrodynamic code for stellar interiors that we are currently developing. The code is implicit in time, hence without any stability limit on the time step. I will present our motivation for developing such a tool and emphasize some important technical aspects of implicit solvers. I will show some numerical results on stellar convection obtained with the code and highlight some difficulties and limitations of our approach.
